Follow Through Friday: Self-Sabotage

FatChick2FitChick

This might be a debbie downer Follow Through Friday post however I have promised myself to be authentic on this blog as well as a space where I can be accountable. With that being said I need to be honest with myself.

I AM MY BIGGEST DOWNFALL. Every time I get some momentum, get the hang of it, show myself I can actually do it "this time". I stop! I justify everything and say to myself, "this won't hurt the whole thing', "one time won't hurt", "I can't deprive myself it will only cause a binge", "I'm learning balance" etc etc you get the point. And after I finished the cleanse last week I was feeling great I saw that it was doable even when I went out to eat. But the weekend came and I had a turkey burger with fries then Chinese food for two days then it was Monday and I did no groceries and didn't prep-FAIL OF A WEEK.

I did go to the grocery store on Tuesday and was able to continue some of it but I don't feel great. Boot camp is officially over since I"m leaving but the weather has been good enough that I have gone on some runs (even cut my mile by 3 mintues in a week) HOWEVER self sabotage is real and it is my life.

Honestly I do not know how to stop it? I put up post it notes around my mirror. I have a motivational background on my phone. I tell myself one day at a time, one meal at a time and during the week or for most of the day I'm good but then I see temptations and can't deny myself.  I'm really nervous about moving back to NJ and having temptations everywhere! My mother's cooking is all rice, there are bakeries with fresh bread around my house, so many things I haven't had in awhile that I don't know how I'm going to get to my goal weight for the summer/memorial day weekend.

Any advice would help! Definitely feeling defeated about this journey.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly of AdvoCare Cleanse (1 week later)

This will be a quick post! I finished my AdvoCare cleanse last week. And the results were okay. I decided not to weight myself or measure just go by pictures. I felt great throughout however had a few temptations and gave in here and there. I had mentioned that I was leaving Baltimore (leaving on Saturday) and had a few drinks/dinner lined up throughout the cleanse. I drank twice sangria and a mojito and overall did look for the healthier options when eating out but who can say no to warm french bread ALL THE TIME.

I would love to do the cleanse again 100% and even think I would consider the 24 day cleanse. It definitely showed me that it is a mental game but 100% doable if you prep and want to do it.

Day 1 vs. Day 11

Birthday vs Day 11
The biggest difference I saw was in my middle section and my face. I felt so uncomfortable  for my birthday and the day after the cleanse finished I couldn't stop taking pictures! I felt great!!

I definitely understand the hype and would recommend AdvoCare for anyone wanting to do a cleanse without the craziness that some entail.

Follow Through Friday- Day 3 of the AdvoCare Cleanse

FatChick2FitChick

IT IS FRIDAY & I FEEL GREAT!!! I'm in such a great mood- it is sunny and Friday and I have lost 2lbs since I started the cleanse!!

I can say that it is definitely doable to eat clean however it is such a mental game! This week I got a job offer in NYC (currently living in Baltimore) this means I will be moving in with my parents until late summer (will need  Xanax). I'm super happy and excited for this next chapter but cue in emotional roller coaster since I found out. I'm mostly in disbelief and going through the motions- I have 2 weeks until I make the move and start the new job. I have to say bye to people and hang out with a lot of friends which MEANS A LOT OF TEMPTATION DURING THIS CLEANSE!! I know worse timing ever because everyone wants to do dinner and drinks which I want to do but I want to do this cleanse. Last night was my first test- I went out to dinner and before I got there I picked out my meal which was the skinny salad with chicken (mixed greens, cucumber, and tomato) and then a side of sweet potato fries (counts as a good carb right? ) however I took a small handful then stopped eating them and ordered no alcohol. I think that was the first time I have ever ate that clean when I was out. Of course the fries and the 2 tablespoon of balsamic vinaigrette dressing isn't allowed but I'm not going to sweat the small stuff; overall the meal was healthy and I'm really proud of myself for doing it.

I didn't workout this week at all- I am hoping to run tonight and this weekend. Overall I'm feeling good especially because the fiber drink is over until day 8 (so gross)

Goals for next week-
  1. Continue on the cleanse avoid temptations- remember "How bad do I want it"
  2. Go to boot camp 3 days (specifically the 5:30am class)

Advocare Cleanse Day 1

After some delivery debacle I finally received my advocare package and  I was so excited!! until I realized the cleanse didn't come with the Spark mix for energy! I was totally bummed I didn't read the packaging correctly or look into more of the add-ons but I will just do the best I can without the Crack juice (Spark).

Monday and Tuesday I started to mentally prepare and make changes; so instead of getting crispy chicken salad from UNO I did grill and tried more veggies for dinner. Tuesday was a lot cleaner until I got great news and decided to celebrate with pasta and a giant glass of wine.

The cleanse officially started today! And the citrus fiber drink woooo NASTYYYYYY
Literately my face this morning
Almost threw up (because I'm that dramatic) but all I kept saying is "skinny Gigi- you can do this" and well I did as painful as it was and how late it made me!

I meal prepped last night but don't have enough containers to do it for a week so just did it for the day but made enough food for a few days.
SO PROUD OF MYSELF- LOOKS OFFICIAL

Breakfast: 2 mini egg white muffins with tomato and yellow pepper & 1/2 cup of black beans
Snack 1- 1/4 avocado with 1/2 of blueberries and raspberries
Lunch- 5oz of chicken breast lightly seasoned with 1/2 cup of brown rice and 1 cup of broccoli and carrots steamed
Snack 2- apple with 2 tablespoon of almond butter
Dinner- 4 slices of turkey breast and 1/2 cup of broccoli and carrots steamed and a mini cucumber

Now my dinner is super wack but I'm working my other job tonight (Banana Republic) so I couldn't get creative just something I can eat during my 15 minute break

The hardest part is no caffeine I'M ADDICTED! so crack spark juice would have come in handy. I might have to do a green tea later on today but so far I think this is doable.. except the moment of weakness I had when I grabbed a mini Twixx and chewed half of it and spit it out HAHAH

This is a mental game- and I have to tell myself every day- morning, afternoon and right before I go to bed

HOW BAD DO I WANT IT?

JUST ORDERED MY ADVOCARE

Have been in a DEEP weight loss rut! Last week was my 24th birthday and some of the pictures were great and some (after I got my hair cut ) were a little "ewww why does my face look so round maybe because I have been stuffing my face since December" and since I'm really trying to be in a positive mind set with all aspects of my life I ended my pitty party today and ordered my advocare detox!

I'm super scared/excited! Post on my game plan to come soon!!!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!!

Flu & Vegas

I have been sick for almost a week now with the flu (yes the one everyone dreads) I couldn't go to work for the whole week plus all the snow ugh I was on the couch dying for days! My goal was to be better by today because I'm going to Vegas for the long weekend. My job hosts an annual conference in different cities each time and this year the whole company is going to Vegas- it will be my first time and i'm soooo excited! still under the weather but mama is going to make it work! Thankfully this is the trial Vegas and I'm going back in June for a bachelorette (operation Vegas body in FULL EFFECT starting next week)

Any who Valentine's Day was always something I celebrated with my best friend Teresa we always went all out and I wish we did something this year.. in need of the extra loving but ehhh c'est la vie and I have so much love in my life and it is a beautiful thing!

I Can't come up with a clever title.. so here you go Follow Through Friday Take 4 (2 for me)

FatChick2FitChick

This week has been awesome! The week of the wedding was crazy! I was in panic mode and tried to detox and crash diet! I was having panic attacks as if I was the bride. But I calmed myself down- there was very little I could do at that point. Thankfully my sister picked flattering dresses so that helped a lot. I just kept telling myself that this was going to be the before pictures and after the alcohol, delicious food and cake I would get back at it. Last week was slow moving so but finally something clicked; I did it once got to see some results but DAMMIT I want more results so I just have to keep going!

This week's goals:
  1. Full Week of Jillian
  2. Back on MyFitnessPal - recording every meal not just downloading the app
  3. 1 sweet/non clean eating treat a day (moderation)
  4. No eating after 8:30pm

So I didn't fully complete my goals HOWEVER when I started in May I focused on food first then slowly got into working out. I was totally ready to do Jillian but then decided to do a boot camp class I did this summer. I had a groupon and it was great but shit happened and didn't finish the full month. So now we are back paying full price (kill me it is so expensive! but hopefully gets me there ) but already feel great. I did boot camp on Wednesday and today. This morning we did the 5:30am class & let me tell you I FEEL GREAT!!! I'm so energized and just feeling good. I'm a little sore and tight but not walking like a baby deer so I will take it.

Next week's goals:
  1. Continue using MyFitnessPal
  2. Go to boot camp 3 days this week
  3. Eat very little during Super Bowl party
  4. DO NOT MESS UP DURING THE WEEKEND! (for this reason I weighted myself today and weighting again on Monday)
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Follow Through Friday- I AM ALIVE

I have been out of the game for a while now.. Let's call it D. Rose'ing (basketball reference for anyone who gets it) I went a couple months without blogging/caring about eating healthy/working out on a regular basis. Unfortunately for me this is when it mattered the most because my sister's wedding is next weekend. I worked my butt off during the summer and was seeing results and I let life happen and a good amount of those results are gone. I have gained back some weight and probably inches. But anyways I went into panic mode because I felt uncomfortable again, clothes were getting snug and I was not happy at all. Of course it is nice that the New Year was approaching so it is the best time to start over. So instead of moping around about what I didn't do I'm just starting all over again.

I hoping to start blogging on a regular basis but for now I'm committing to just the "Follow Through Friday" for some weekly accountability and hopefully motivation. SO LETS GET STARTED

FatChick2FitChick

Food
My food has gotten A LOT BETTER. I have been meal planning again. There were some hiccups because I didn't do a full grocery trip beforehand. I have cut back on carbs specifically white carbs (which are my weakness) however there were still moments of giving in. Also have not had coffee and cut back on sugar.

Breakfast- oatmeal and fruit
Lunch- turkey lunch meat & a salad with balsamic vinaigrette & fruit
Dinner- depends on what I had at home; it ranged from pasta to pizza or eggs ( I know that doesn't sound healthy however everything was in small portions and like I mentioned it was because I didn't properly grocery shop)
Snacks- varied from hard boil egg to fruit and a kind bar

                                 Exercise
I started the 30 day shred with Jillian Michael. I'm not a fan of working out at home; it is easy for me to just stop and make excuses. However, since my gym membership ended and I'm waiting till after the wedding to have extra funds to sign up for a new one this was my only choice. I decided to do the workout in the mornings before work and was surprise how quickly my body adjusting to waking up early, by Wednesday I was up before my alarm ready to go. I actually like the program it is quick and I feel the burn/sore the next day. I did however take Thursday off and today but will doing it at night

Results- Down 1 lbs.
Next Week's Goals:
1. Working out Sun-Thursday (wedding is next week)
2. Eating super clean until Friday (wedding shenanigans begin)
3. Do not eat after 8pm
